In Arizona, all home inspectors need to be state certified. This means the Arizona home inspector has had a minimum of 80 hours class work, passed a written exam, had a criminal background check and performed at least 30 home inspections with someone else that was already certified. You read that right, 30 inspections.
The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) requires more.
To be ASHI Certified members we have pass the same exam, abide by a code of ethics, obtain a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education every year and had to have performed over 250 fee paid inspections.
