In 1978 the phone calls from lawyers started: “Please help my home buying clients by performing a pre-purchase home inspection.” By 1979, Bill stopped selling houses and concentrated on inspecting and evaluating them. Before long, he hired some full-time employees and became a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI #1015). He now serves on the Standards of Practice Committee.
Eight thousand bungalows, houses, mansions, multi family dwellings, warehouses and factories later, Bill is still out there every day, personally evaluating buildings. So far, his highly-skilled team of professionals have inspected and written reports on over 21,000 houses. They take great pride in these reports, and guarantee buyers that the information contained in them will be 100% accurate.
Yes, Bill is still teaching but has expanded his courses to include hazardous substances in homes: including asbestos, lead paint, radon, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, high moisture levels, molds, mites, allergens, pesticides, pressure treated lumber and candle burning. The latest cutting-edge issues.
In 1987, dragged by his wife Barbara, he bought a vacation house in Bucks County PA. Three houses later, he now commutes across the State of New Jersey every day from PA to NY and raises sheep on a gentleman’s farm. Seriously thinking about retiring 15 to 20 years from now. Absolutely loves his job…
